Hello and welcome to the Golden Girl Book Club Blog!

For those of you who know me from bookstagram, hello again! And for those of you who have stumbled onto my tiny corner of the internet, welcome, come on in, get cozy, and make yourself at home.

My name is Cam, and I am an attorney by day, and avid lover of books all the time. I started my bookstagram account, Golden Girl Book Club, during the summer of the pandemic of 2020 (and as I write this, we are a year out and still no end in sight…), to find a way to bring something I’m so passionate about back into my life.

I have always found comfort, escape, adventure, community, and so much more in the world of books. But somewhere along the way on my journey to becoming a lawyer, I lost sight of what I’d loved and the things that made me happy. So having been a long-time lurker in the bookstagram and booktok community, I decided why not? And started my bookstagram account in June 2020.

Golden Girl Book Club is named for my golden retriever, Charlie, who was often featured in my pictures and stories. My other fluffy girl, Scout, a labrador retriever/german shepard mix, occasionally shows up as well, when she’s in the mood for pictures.

My hope in starting this blog is use this as a place to give more detailed book reviews, expand on the things that these books make me grapple with, discuss current issues and promote activism, highlight important causes and share resources, talk more about grief and mental health, share projects and home DIYs that I’m working on, and maybe a little bit of lawyerly advice and insight on what its like to be a young woman in the legal field.

Basically, a hodgepodge of things that are always constantly pinging around my overactive brain.
